Paris Saint Germain are reportedly entered race to sign Atalantamidfielder Franck Kessie.
The Ivorian midfielder is currently on Nations Cup duties in Gabon but has continued to attract interest from European clubs due to his impressive performances for his club, Atalanta in the Serie A.
The likes of Chelsea and Manchester United were believed to be ahead in the race to sign the 20-year-old box-to-box midfielder but the French Champions have now joined the pursuit.
Reports in the La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that PSG have offered Atalanta an opening bid of around €25m which was said to have rejected by the Serie A side as they will not allow him leave on for a cheap.
There were reports that the Italian side turned down a €18 million bid from Everton with suggestions that Atalanta are ready to wait till summer before allowing Kessie leave for a significant fee.
Chelsea are believed to be keen on signing a replacement in the midfield after the departures of Mikel and Oscar to China.
However, Blues boss Antonio Conte has a sizeable number of choices to choose from his current crop of players with the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nathaniel Chalobah acting as cover for the trio N’Golo Kante, Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas in the midfield for the Blues.
