Chelsea And Tottenham Get Boost In Attempt For Star Player Deal

Ross Barkley

Everton star player Ross Barkley has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park for much of this summer and has emerged as a target for both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

It appears either Chelsea or Tottenham will eventually get his signature before the transfer window closes, with reports that Everton have agreed on a deal to bring in Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea this week.

Everton are ready to secure Sigurdsson’s services for a fee of £45million and he is expected to come for a medical at Goodison Park on Wednesday.

Already, Everton boss Ronald Koeman has made it known that he has no plans for Ross in his first-team this summer and the player is pushing for a move away from Goodison Park.

27-year-old Sigurdsson will soon become an Everton player and is likely to be Barkley’s replacement in Ronald Koeman’s squad.

The new development will boost the chances of both Chelsea and Tottenham getting his signature before the end of the transfer window.

Gylfi will become the toffees most-expensive player bought after finalising the deal, that will surpass the £31.8m they paid to Chelsea back in 2014 for Romelu Lukaku – a player they eventually sold to Manchester United this summer for a fee over £70M.

Everton are understood to be asking for £50M for Ross Barkley, but interested clubs do not want to meet the asking price for a player whose contract is getting expired next summer.
