With no doubt whatsoever, Chelsea deserves being the best premier league club this season, even despite losing to Arsenal last Saturday in the FA Cup final.
Apart from being premier league champions despite their unpalatable campaign last term, a handful of the Chelsea guys were able to scoop the big awards in England for this term. While Antonio Conte was named the manager of the year in the premier league, N’Golo Kante was the one who was chosen as the premier league player of the year, and Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois won the Golden Glove award this term.
The Belgian goalie was able to keep more clean-sheets than any other goalkeeper this season in the premier league, and he played a big role in Chelsea’s ability in winning the premier league title.
The Belgium international has been constantly linked with a move to La Liga side Real Madrid this summer, and his west London club is set to do their best to keep their goalie out of Real Madrid’s reach.
However, the Belgian has confirmed he’ll sign a new contract at Chelsea, but only if he’s being rewarded with a good salary increase.
It is already been speculated that the premier league champions are ready to make him one of the highest-paid players in the club by offering him a new contract that would see him earn £150,000 each week at Stamford Bridge.
