Done Deal! Arsenal to announce key summer signing on July 1st – Sky Sports

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Premier League giants Arsenal will announce the acquisition of Sokratis Papastathopoulos from German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund on July 1st.

Reinforcement at the Emirates
The Gunners have been alleged to be closing in on a transfer deal to sign the defender as newly appointed Arsenal boss Unai Emery looks to further strengthen his defence at The Emirates Stadium.

The North Londoners announced their second summer signing last week when they completed the acquisition of goalkeeper Bernd Leno from German side Bayer Leverkusen.

Arsenal are now expected to be able to complete a transfer deal to land the 29-year-old to The Emirates Stadium this summer window ahead of Spanish tactician Ubai Emery’s debut season in charge.

Announcement expected shortly
And Sky Sports reporter Sheth has now disclosed that the transfer deal for the experienced defender is likely to be officially announced at the beginning of next month because of tax reasons.

Emery’s men will be hoping to beak back into Premier Leagues top four next term in manager Emery’s debut campaign at the North London side.

The Gunners have finished the season outside the UEFA Champions League qualification place for the last two campaigns running before French tactician Arsene Wenger decided to step aside at the end of last season.
