Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has reiterated his desire to stay at the club beyond his current contract which expires this summer.

In his latest interview monitored by Shields Gazette, the former Liverpool manager said that he will sit down with the Newcastle United hierarchy to talk about his future at the club.

It’s certain that Rafael Benitez will stay with Newcastle United as their manager as long as his conditions are met.

The uncertainty surrounding his stay at the club has prompted transfer talks involving managers like Gennaro Gattuso (AC Milan), David Wagner (former Huddersfield Town) and others.

Rafael Benitez had taken charge of two Premier League clubs namely Liverpool and Chelsea before his appointment as the Newcastle United manager in 2016.

The Spaniard was not able to keep the Magpies in the Premier League during the 2015/16 season with his appointment coming late in the season.

Benitez then went on to sign a three-year deal until 2019 before masterminding their promotion to the Premier League at the first attempt.

He has been able to maintain the Magpies’ status in the Premier League for the last two seasons.

Rafael Benitez is one of the most experienced and most successful managers in the Premier League but he could leave Newcastle United if they fail to meet his conditions for a stay at the club.
