Chelsea have been incredible under their new Italian coach Antonio Conte this season – but so is Tottenham Hotspur.
The White Hart Lane club are currently closest contenders to Chelsea in the premier league title with just seven points behind the table leaders, after successfully reducing the gap from ten points few weeks ago.
Even though Chelsea comfortably won Bournemouth in their last premier league outing last weekend, Tottenham were also victors against Swansea and still follow closely, making some Chelsea fans worried.
Spurs are currently on a six-game winning run plus they are in brilliant form and seem unlikely to give up the fight until the crown is simply out of reach. They’ve got superb players in the team, one of which is Dele Alli who keeps contributing to his side’s run.
However, Chelsea former player Pat Nevin has seen some positives in Tottenham’s ‘stubbornness’ in the title challenge.
Nevin who agreed to the fact that Tottenham are trying their best to put as much pressure as possible on Chelsea with their impressive current run, also believed there are some positives that can be pointed to here.
The legend noted that If Chelsea do win the title at the end, it will be much sweeter if it hasn’t been easy and it will also be sweet to finally see Tottenham’s hopes being dashed eventually.
Tottenham have the opportunity to close the gap when they host Bournemouth on Saturday before Chelsea’s away game at Manchester United.
