Peter Schmeichel believes Man United current boss Jose Mourinho had a confusing first year at the club before things begin going the right way this season.
Schmeichel is one of Manchester United best of all times and was with the Sir Alex Ferguson’s side that won the famous 1998/99 treble.
And as a legend at Old Trafford, the Dane will feel he is in a good position to judge the merit of this new team, and he has actually given the new-look squad a good endorsement following their superb performances so far.
Jose Mourinho signed Romelu Lukaku (from Everton) and Nemanja Matic (from Chelsea) during the summer transfer window, and both stars have been so superb at their new side.
Lukaku was able to score a brace during his debut for the red devils and has been on fire since then, and he was the one who helped Jose Mourinho’s side get the three points against Southampton last Saturday.
Matic is also settling quickly at Old Trafford, and has been able to make a difference for Mourinho in his team.
And having struggled vehemently last term, Peter believes the Portuguese tactician found that transition difficult upon taking the Old Trafford job, and that he’s now getting things right because he signed the right players.
Man United are sitting second on the premier league table with the same points as league leaders Man City.
