According to new reports, premier league heavyweights Manchester United are ready to offer goalkeeper David De Gea a new deal at Old Trafford, and they are confident the Spanish shot-stopper will agree to the long-term contract.

The Independent made it known that talks for the deal will begin soon between the club and the player’s party.

De Gea signed for Man United in the summer of 2011 and has gone on to become one of the most important members of the club, having firmly established himself as one of the best goalies in the world.

De Gea recently kept his 100th clean sheet for Manchester United, and his impressive performances have seen other big sides wishing to have him guard the sticks in their own team.

The Spain international has been regularly linked with a move to Real Madrid, and he is understood to would have become a Real Madrid player in the summer of 2015 if not for some obstructions that hindered the transfer.

The Champions League winners are said to maintain an interest in the tall keeper despite having Keylor Navas who have been also impressive in the Spanish capital.

David’s current deal at Old Trafford is expiring in the summer of 2019, but the red devils are confident of taking advantage of his current happiness at their side to make him sign a new deal that will extend his stay at the club.
