Frenchman Arsene Wenger has since left the North London outfit Arsenal in the last summer transfer window with Unai Emery taking over at the club but Swiss international Granit Xhaka has stated that the big step is yet to be taken to move on from the past.

According to him, the Unai Emery mark would be made if the club returns to Champions League football, knowing that they were left out under the reigns of the former manager.

Wenger had a 22-year reign at the North London outfit which cannot be forgotten but it ended on a bad note as he could not qualify the Champions League on two occasions before he left.

Granit Xhaka who was part of the team that failed to secure a win against Tottenham said returning to the Champions League will speak well of the fact that the club has moved on from the past era.

However, the Gunners are still struggling to secure a Champions League spot with a number of competitions for the fourth position and they have got about 9 more games to be played.

Meanwhile, the Arsenal team are confident that they can still get to fight for the spot until the end of the season.
