According to reports, Leicester City and Algeria winger Riyad Mahrez is determined to join Arsenal this summer transfer window.
Serie A side AS Roma are also interested in signing the African, but according to The Sun on Sunday, the midfielder will turn down the Serie A club to force a transfer to the Arsene Wenger tutored side.
The Algeria international winger is also ready to delay his Leicester City exit until later on in the summer transfer window, once the Gunners have made a final decision over unsettled Chilean Alexis Sanchez.
The former Premier League Champions have placed a £50 million asking price on the 26-year-old attacker, but it’s believed that the Gunners could agree on a deal for around £35m.
The North Londoners are also keen to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco, but the Ligue 1 club value the France international at £80 million and have turned down three offers from Arsenal so far.
The Algerian has already declared that he wants to leave the King Power Stadium this summer and manager Craig Shakespeare confirmed during the week that a bid from AS Roma had been turned down.
Mahrez was very instrumental as the Foxes won the Premier League title last year, scoring 18 goals from 39 matches.
However, the winger’s form dipped drastically last campaign in a torrid season that saw manager Claudio Ranieri sacked and replaced by Craig Shakespeare.
The Arsenal target managed to score 10 goals and is now determined to leave the Leicester for Arsenal.
