Antoine Semenyo

Chelsea are set to join Manchester United in the chase after Bristol City’s youngster Antoine Semenyo who is being loaned to League Two side Newport FC for the rest of the season.

The Red Devils have been trailing the winger’s development since last year when they sent their scout to keep close watch on his performances.

Having received an encouraging report from their scouts, the Old Trafford outfits are ready to launch a bid for his signature.

According to the Mirror Semenyo cost only £2m and Solskjaer is more than willing to release the fee so as to complete his signature.

The Mirror are reporting that Maurizio Sarri is now in the race for the youngster due Bayern’s unrelenting efforts to sign young winger/midfielder Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The Italian manager has woken up to the truth that he stands little or no chance to prevent Callum Hudson-Odoi from joining Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich this month, hence, they’ve picked up interest in the ‘unknown’ winger as his replacement.

Semenyo has registered six goals this season despite playing as a winger and Chelsea are willing to capture his services to see if he would be able to help solve the club’s attacking problems.

United are still keen on his signature as they won’t want to upgrade their youth team at the current transfer window.

The Red Devils are not in dire need of a winger as Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are in rich vein of form.

Hence, Semenyo will be with the Premier League 2 team but will get some chance to feature for Solskjaer’s side.
