It appears Manchester United will eventually lose David De Gea this summer, and it seems the goalkeeper won’t be staying in-between the sticks at Old Trafford next season.
According to new reports (via Spanish radio station Onda Cero), his agent has recently held talks with Real Madrid over a deal for the Spanish international.
De Gea, who is being regarded by many as the best goalie in the world, has been heavily linked with the Champions League winners in recent times.
In 2015, the La Liga club almost sealed a deal for him, but the move couldn’t materialise before the closure of the window. Nevertheless, they are still hunting for his signature and might finalise everything once and for all this summer.
Real Madrid are looking to sign a new goalkeeper as an upgrade on Keylor Navas at the Bernabeu, and apart from De Gea, they’ve also been linked with AS Roma’s Alisson Becker. But it seems David is still their first choice target this summer.
It was made known recently that the club’s president Florentino Perez has held discussions with his agent Jorge Mendes over a summer deal.
Florentino is a big fan of the shot-stopper and is keen on bringing him down to the Bernabeu to further reinforce the team ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
