Premier League title contenders Liverpool have been rocked by the news that Brescia owner Massimo Cellino has slapped a €50m asking price on one of their transfer targets.

Sandro Tonali has been turning heads this season as a result of his impressive performances for Brescia in the Italian Serie B.

His form for Brescia has propelled them to the top of the table in the second tier of Italian football and they are on course for promotion to the Italian Serie A at the end of this campaign.

Brescia owner Cellino has previously confirmed the interest of clubs like Liverpool and AS Roma in his player.

Sandro Tonali, 18, has drawn a comparison with Italian football legend Andrea Pirlo due to his style of play with the legendary midfielder.

Italian media outlet Calciomercato revealed that Brescia and Cellino will demand €50m from any club interested in a transfer for the young Italian media.

The said fee is high due to an additional €15m if Brescia returns to the Italian top flight at the end of the season.

The €50m asking price could be a step too far for Liverpool who are reluctant to spend heavily this summer according to journalist Paul Joyce of the Liverpool Echo.
