Sead Kolasinac

Arsenal have started negotiations with Schalke midfielder Sead Kolasinac, according to reports.

Following failed transfer talks with the Blues, representatives of the 23-year-old have opened talks with the Gunners regarding a potential transfer deal.

Reports in the Daily Mail claim that Arsenal are confident of sealing a summer deal for the midfielder after holding initial transfer discussions with the North London outfit earlier this year.

The Bosnian’s deal with Schalke will expire at the end of the season, and will be available for free next summer unless a new deal is signed and the Gunners are understood to be seriously considering a summer move for the midfielder.

The Blues made an offer of £5.3 million for Kolasinac during the January window and have maintained their interest in him, with suggestions that Antonio Conte will try to sign again this summer.

The likes of Manchester City, Juventus and Liverpool are also understood to be monitoring the situation of the versatile midfielder who also plays as a full-back

However, the future of Arsene Wenger might scupper Arsenal’s chances of making an audacious swoop for the midfielder which might allow their league rivals might move ahead of the Gunners during the next summer transfer window.
