Deal Almost Agreed: Bundesliga giants chief confirms negotiations over Chelsea left-back

Schalke Chief Christian Heidel has said his side are in negotiations over a possible move for Chelsea defender Baba Rahman this winter transfer window.

It remains to be known if the move would be a permanent on or a loan move, with the left-back having spent time on season-long loan with the German outfit last campaign.

Baba Rahman has featured just 23 matches for the Blues since joining the West London club from Augsburg in 2015 and doesn’t seem to be in the manager’s plans.

All indications point towards the 23-year-old African having another stint in the Bundesliga, with the Schalke Sporting Director explaining that negotiations are ongoing, but with little else to complete the deal.

Cited in the London Evening Standard, the Club Chief says agreeing on a deal with the Ghanaian himself should be easy enough, while there only have few things to clear up with the Blues.

This looks the latest example of the Blues signing a footballer with little plan of utilizing him, and instead, sending him out on loan to clubs in Europe to raise his asking price.

A lot of players have gone down the same path at the club and it looks like the full-back now faces an almost impossible battle to have a future at Chelsea.
