2012 Champions League winners Chelsea are eyeing a big money move for highly rated Marseille forward Florian Thauvin ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to start as from the 1st of January.
According to Italian news platform Calciomercato, they have revealed that the Blues’ boss is a big admirer of the French international player and he’s ready to make a move for him.
The player has been in sensational form for French Ligue 1 giants Marseille this season in both their league and Europa League campaigns.
The French international has scored 12 goals and provided four assists for Marseille in all competitions since the start of the season.
The aforementioned report also emphasized that a transfer fee of around £40m would be enough to prise the player away from the French Ligue 1 outfit.
Florian Thauvin has been one of the best players in France this season and Chelsea would be hoping that he can transfer the form to English football in the event that a transfer bid for him proves to be successful.
He’s no stranger to the Premier League in England having spent the 2015/16 season as a Newcastle United player.
Thauvin scored just once in 16 appearances for the Magpies in what was a disappointing spell for him.
