According to reports, Brazil international and Ex Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho has told his club that Chelsea centre-half David Luiz wants a summer move to Barcelona.

Don Balon, as cited by the Daily Express, is claiming that the Catalan club signing has told the La Liga runaway leaders that his National teammate is open to a switch to the Spanish club.

The same reports state that David Luiz is so keen on a move to the club that the former PSG defender is willing to take a wage cut to join Barca.

According to the Spanish media outlet, Barcelona could reignite their interest in Luiz in the summer after the Spanish side turned down the chance to sign the Blues star last month.

Luiz has fallen out of favour at the West London club over the last few months despite playing a major role in their 2016/2017 Premier League title success.

He was dropped for a 1-0 win over rivals Manchester United at home last October and has heavily struggled to break back into the starting line-up.

Drop down pecking order

Indeed, Luiz, 30, has started 10 matches and has come from the bench once in the 2017-18 campaign so far.

The reigning Premier League champions are in fifth position in the English Premier League log and two points behind Tottenham in fourth.
