Chelsea on the verge to complete signing of star duo

According to British media reports, West London outfit Chelsea are eyeing Newcastle skipper Jamaal Lascelles and Napoli centre-back Raul Albiol in the summer window.

Chelsea seek defensive reinforcement
The Daily Mail is claiming that Chelsea want to strengthen their options at the back in the present transfer market following a rather poor second campaign under Italian boss Antonio Conte.

The same report states that the Blues are looking at Magpies captain Lascelles as a possible long-term replacement for Gary Cahill at the back.

As per the same report, the west London outfit are keeping close tabs on Napoli star Albiol following a fifth-spot Premier League finish last season.

The Blues finished outside the English Premier League’s top-four spots after they conceded 38 goals in 38 matches in the League.

Blues aim top four return
The Blues brought in Germany international defender Antonio Rudiger in a huge money transfer deal from Roma last summer window to strengthen their options at the back.

The Blues have also raided the Serie A side for Brazilian defender Emerson Palmieri in the winter transfer window.

The Blues have finished outside the UEFA Champions League place for the second successive seasons.

Antonio Conte led the Blues to the English Premier League triumph in his first season in charge of the club.
