With his is outstanding defensive performance this season, Chelsea Andreas Christensen who plays for Borussia Monchengladbach has been one of the hottest young defenders in Europe this season.
The highly rated star moved to German side in 2014 summer for a two-year loan spell to gain first team football and experience.
Speaking to the media concerning possible return to Chelsea in January, the 20-years old star said:
“We aren’t in talks with Chelsea. I’m staying at Borussia,”.
“I’m just focusing on tomorrow’s game.”
The German side are eager to tie the tough tackling centre-back at Germany after making offers to Chelsea on two different occasion to sign the star permanently, but both offers were rejected by the Blues as they consider the star as a future defender at Stamford Bridge.
Christensen fine form this season has drawn interest from top European team including La Liga giants Barcelona and Juventus who wants to secure the service of the starlet on a permanent deal.
The Denmark international star will be expected in the starting line-up tomorrow as his team takes on Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League game.
Speaking ahead of the match, Gladbach manager Andre Schubert claimed to have learned lesson from their first game after they were beaten 4-0 in the opening game of the group stage.
“We learned our lessons from the first game against Manchester City,” said Schubert.
“They have a good squad, they press very high from the first minute.
“They showed what a good side they are in their last few games. Their win against Barcelona wasn’t surprising. They are both amongst the top teams in Europe. It’s an important game for us.”
