Chelsea are planning a £38 million bid for Fiorentina winger Federico Bernardeschi.

Reports in Calciomercato claim that the Blues are willing to splash the cash in the transfer window and have set their sights on quite a number of potential deals which the Serie A winger is part of.

Antonio Conte is said to be an avid admirer of the 22-year-old and would be keen on bringing him to the Stamford Bridge.

Bernandeschi has scored seven goals and one assist in fourteen games for Fiorentina so far this Serie A season and may be brought in as a cover for the attacking duo of Willian and Pedro who are currently battling for the same position on the right side of Chelsea’s wing.

The Italian winger possesses excellent distribution and could also be deployed as a playmaker while his form in front of goal is quite excellent.

However, reports also have that the Blues might have to wait this next summer before the transfer can materialise.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are still monitoring a deal for AS Roma centre-back Antonio Rudiger as Conte continues to look for defensive cover in his three-man defence, but face stiff competition from a host of English clubs who are keen on signing the Italian ace.
