According to reports, Chelsea look to lead the race in the pursuit of Juventus forward Gonzalo Higuain as he looks ready to leave this summer transfer window.

Football.london suggest that both Arsenal and Chelsea are in for the Argentine, while French side Paris Saint-Germain have also been named among suitors in the past but would now heavily struggle to get a move done due to UEFA Financial Fair Play restrictions.

The prolific striker has long been one of the best strikers in the world but the forward has really come into his own during his five seasons in Italy with Juventus and Napoli.

Higuain, 30, has scored 146 goals across all competitions in his spell in Italy, and would be an upgrade on Spain striker Alvaro Morata after a tough first campaign at Stamford Bridge.

In fact, it is the Chelsea striker who could give the West London club the edge over the Gunners in any deal for the Argentina international, with football.london claiming that the forward is in talks over a transfer to Juve.

Chelsea supporters would love to see their side sign a big name striker again and it’s important they get it correct up front next term after a botched attempt at replacing Spaniard Diego Costa with Alvaro Morata.
