Liverpool target Nabil Fekir has opened wide the door to a possible move to the Premier League side after he confirmed Ligue 1 side Lyon won’t stop him from leaving this summer transfer.
Important player at Lyon
The Frenchman has emerged as one of Lyon’s most vital players over the last two or three years in the French Ligue 1.
Fekir, 24, has been constantly linked with a potential transfer to North London giants Arsenal in recent windows but manager Arsene Wenger’s departure may end their interest.
Over the last couple of weeks, the Reds have been tipped with a move for sign Fekir in a deal valued about £62million ahead of the summer window.
Fekir to replace Can at Liverpool
The Merseysider’s could lose Germany international midfielder Emre Can on a free this summer transfer window, which would leave a major void in Jurgen Klopp’s squad that the Ligue 1 star could fill.
Questioned about his Lyon future ahead of the last round of English Premier League matches, Fekir told L’Equipe the club President Jean-Michel Aulas told him, like he told other players when they signed their deals, that he has the possibility to speak out whenever he wants to leave.
“I {Fekir} don’t have a free pass to leave {Lyon}. I {Fekir}have a deal until 2020.
He said he has two more matches at Lyon and then he’ll see. The player stressed the club president trusts him and he feels good at Lyon.
Fekir has found the net 17 times and has provided seven assists in 28 matches in Ligue 1 this season.
