Champions League: Klopp Praises His Skipper After Porto Win

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for his captain after his impressive outing against Portuguese champions FC Porto in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson was outstanding as he led the Reds to a fantastic first leg lead over their Portuguese opponents in their Champions League last eight tie.

In his post-match press conference after the 2-0 win over FC Porto, Klopp praised England international Henderson and how he has been able to adapt to a new role.

Jurgen Klopp narrated how Jordan Henderson has done well since his role was changed to a box-to-box midfielder.

Jordan Henderson was involved in the buildup to the second goal against FC Porto before Reds right-back Trent Alexandre-Arnold to cross the ball for Roberto Firmino to tap home from few yards out.

The Firmino goal came in the 26th minute after the Reds had taken an early lead through Naby Keita on five minutes.

Guinean international Naby Keita has now scored two goals in his last two games for Liverpool in all competitions.

Naby Keita scored in the last game before the FC Porto match, a 3-1 away win over Southampton in the Premier League, just like Jordan Henderson.

Liverpool skipper Henderson came off the bench to provide an assist and also score against the Saints on Friday night.
