Best Player: Rodgers In Tribute To Sterling Ahead Of Crucial League Clash

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has praised the quality shown by Raheem Sterling in recent seasons as he described him as one of the world’s best players.

According to him, Raheem Sterling has improved a great deal under the guidance of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

Brendan Rodgers and Raheem Sterling worked together at Liverpool until 2015 when the latter left to join Premier League champions Manchester City.

Rodgers and Sterling were a major part of the Reds’ close title challenge during the 2014/15 Premier League season.

According to former Celtic manager Rodgers, Sterling didn’t leave Liverpool for money and that he left the Reds to better himself as a footballer.

Liverpool fans still see Raheem Sterling as a villain after leaving the club for Manchester City in a controversial manner.

Brendan Rodgers talked extensively about Sterling during his pre-match press conference ahead of the crucial Premier League clash with Manchester City.

He will reunite with Sterling when he takes his Leicester City side to the Etihad Stadium to face Premier League title chasers Manchester City.

The Foxes can still decide the destination of the league title with Manchester City and Liverpool involved in a tight two-team race.

Manchester City have a one-point lead over Liverpool with just two games left to play this season.
