Bayern Munich are plotting a summer move for duo of Chelsea targets, Marcos Verratti and Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to reports.
The German giants are preparing for life without Xabi Alonso, who announced that he will be retiring at the end of the season and have identified Marcos Verratti has a viable replacement for the Spaniard.
Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti is said to be a long-term admirer of the Italian midfielder due to his all-round abilities and will try to beat the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona to his signature next summer.
Reports in SportBild claim that the German giants are monitoring Verratti but fear they might be put off by Paris Saint Germain’s valuation of the star and will also target Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko who is also been targeted by Chelsea and Manchester United.
It is understood that Bayern Munich might also rival Liverpool for the signature of Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita, who has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga this season.
Bayern Munich are understood to ready to beat their European rivals to sign their identified targets as they plan to stake a claim in the European scene next season following their ouster from the Champions League in the quarterfinal stage this season.
