During the past summer transfer window, Liverpool star player Philippe Coutinho was heavily linked with a move to La Liga side Barcelona, but the Merseyside club chose to hold on to their superstar despite being tempted with huge funds by the European giants.
And according to new reports, the Catalan giants will seek to reopen transfer talks with the reds, but not for Countiho anymore, but for Senegalese star player Sadio Mane.
Mane made a nice start to the new campaign, scoring in his first three English top-flight games before receiving an unfortunate red card against Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City last weekend.
And The Mirror are reporting that his impressive performances have caught the attention of a host of top European clubs including Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid.
Barcelona were also suggested to be the most interested side and are reportedly set to ignore their hunt for Philippe for the African star.
Barca are understood to remain keen on adding more attacking options after they lost out on Neymar to PSG, even though they were able to complete a deal for former Borussia Dortmund man Ousmane Dembele.
Countiho is understood to still nurture the thoughts of moving to Camp Nou in the nearest future, but Barcelona can get Mane for a cheaper price.
It remains to be seen if the Merseyside club will allow the attacker move to Spain when the next transfer window opens.
