Real Madrid to buy-back Arsenal star just so rivals can’t get him

According to reports, Spanish La Liga giant Real Madrid could buy-back Germany international Mesut Ozil to prevent the midfielder from joining rival FC Barcelona.

Mesut Ozil “no club wants him” the former Real Madrid star has been a subject of interest from Catalan giant FC Barcelona recently, but might soon be involved in some transfer saga.

According to reports on Don Balon, the Capital City club could activate the buy-back clause to sign the Arsenal star just so La Liga rivals FC Barcelona don’t lure him to Camp Nou.

The German’s current contract at Emirates Stadium expires at the end of this season, and it’s looking very much likely that he will leave North London on a free transfer.

According to the BBC reporter David Ornstein, the gunners haven’t held contract negotiations with the midfield maestro since March.

This means that foreign suitors will be able to negotiate the transfer with Ozil later in January.

In the unlikely scenario that Real Madrid do get involved in the saga, Mesut Ozil can simply turn down them in favour of FC Barcelona.

If Real Madrid wants to activate that buy-back clause in his sale, they will have to make their approach later in January otherwise the release clause will expire.

This looks like Don Balon is stirring up another transfer just for the sake of it. When it comes to Madrid fanciful rumours, no one does it better.

Real Madrid doesn’t re-sign players they have sold, and with midfielders like Isco and Asensio in top form, they do not need to re-sign Mesut Ozil.
