Why Emery is in rush to complete signing of defensive target

English Premier League outfit Arsenal boss Unai Emery is reportedly desperate to secure the signature of Italian Serie A outfit Napoli right full-back Kevin Malcuit before the January winter window is over.

The North London outfit are dipped into injury crisis with Spanish player Hector Bellerin being the latest to join the sideline and he will not be returning back to action this season.

Hector Bellerin has been confirmed to be out of action for about 6-9 months for suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the recent game against Chelsea.

This, therefore, calls for an urgent solution by way of a replacement and with the January window already running out, the Gunners boss is desperate to do a quick deal and have Kevin Malcuit join the club before the end of Thursday deadline.

Unai Emery is a big fan of the 27-year-old and he is ready to bring him into the team knowing that the race for a top four finish has become more intense so as to secure qualification for next year’s Champions League.

It is therefore unsure if the Italian Serie A outfit will release Kevin Malcuit in this winter window, knowing that he is a major part of the Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
