Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has said that he hopes to sign more players this New Year.
The North London outfit sealed their first signing of the winter transfer window a week ago when they completed a deal to bring in 20-year-old Greek international defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.
The Gunners are bound to be heavily linked with a number of players this window in the next couple of weeks and days, especially with Wenger’s men currently occupying the sixth position in the English Premier League log.
We’ll wait and see if they will use the winter transfer window as an opportunity to significantly strengthen their squad.
However, the French tactician has now dropped a major hint that the London club could be active during this transfer window as he looks to reinforce his team after their disappointing Emirates FA Cup loss against Nottingham last weekend.
Asked by reporters if he hopes to embark on any transfer activity this week, Arsene Wenger said in his post-match press conference that he hopes to be active because we are into the second week of the window already, nothing that time passes quickly.
The Gunners must now sit up after their Emirates FA Cup failure and focus their attention towards their crucial Carabao Cup semi-final first leg clash with the Blues at Stamford Bridge Tonight.
The two City rivals settled for a 2-2 draw at The Emirates Stadium in the League last week.
