Arsenal supporters worldwide are hoping that newly appointed head coach Unai Emery will take charge of a new generation of Premier League dominance at the Emirates this summer.
Unsuccessful decade
However, the fact that Arsenal have been extremely unsuccessful for so a long time cannot be overemphasized, and it’s fair to suggest that the team are lucky to have kept a few of their star players for this long, especially for Spain international defender Hector Bellerin, who is reportedly valued at about £36 million.
After his exit from Catalan side FC Barcelona, the full-back was one of the continent’s most developed players. He moved through the ranks at Arsenal rapidly and became arguably the best young right full-back on the European soil. Deadly crossing, Electrifying pace, and defensively reliable, the defender seemed as though he’s got it all.
Regressed defender
However, his growth has slowed recently, and the full-back is now no longer guaranteed the starting shirt at the Emirates.
It’s difficult to note when he’s development actually slowed, but it’s intriguing to consider where he would be if Bellarin wasn’t still a Gunner. It’s fair to state that their style of play isn’t suited to the player’s qualities. Instead, the Spaniard would rather feel at home at a football club like FC Barcelona – a side in which most of the attacking wing play comes from the full-backs.
