Premier League duo Arsenal and Tottenham are both keen on a potential transfer deal to land Marseille star Morgan Sanson, according to the player’s representative.
Arsenal seek midfield reinforcement
The North London giants are looking to reinforce their midfield options under new boss Unai Emery after a rather disappointing sixth-positioned finish last season.
Switzerland international midfielder Granit Xhaka has heavily struggled to impress in the Arsenal squad, while Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey have both been strongly linked with a possible departure this summer transfer window.
Spurs, on the other hand, are looking to strengthen their team depth ahead of a possible Premier League title challenge under Mauricio Pochettino next season.
Quality midfielder on Arsenal’s radar
Morgan Sanson netted nine goals and provided two assists in 32 matches in the French Ligue 1, while he scored one goal in 16 matches in the cup competitions last season.
Marseille bought Sanson in a £10million transfer deal from Montpellier back in the 2017 summer window but they could make a profit on the 23-year-old this summer window.
His representative Michael Manuello said that the Gunners and Spurs are both closely keeping tabs on the midfielder ahead of a possible summer swoop.
Spurs finished in third position and 14 points ahead of the Gunners in the English Premier League log to ensure their continued playing UEFA Champions League football.
