According to a report by Daily Mail, Premier League giants Arsenal have made an offer to their ex-player Oguzhan Ozyakup, as they attempt to re-sign the player.
Arsenal plan to reinforce midfield option
The story, which quotes Turkish publication Aksam via Milliyet, suggests the North London outfit are interested in adding further options to their midfield and have tabled an offer for the player to join the Emirates club at the climax of the present season.
The midfielder would arrive at the club as a free agent with his present deal set to run out in June this very year.
Couldn’t break into Wenger’s team
Oguzhan Ozyakup originally signed for the Arsene Wenger tutored side back in 2008 but found it difficult to break through and make any sort of impact at the Emirates Stadium.
The 23-year-old left the former Premier League champions to link up with Turkish club Besiktas for only £500,000 back in 2012, since heading back to his home nation, the midfielder has performed pretty well, becoming a prominent figure in the side’s midfield.
The young midfielder has been capped by Turkey on 30 separate occasions and has won two Turkish Superleague titles.
It is likely the player will feel he has unfinished business at Arsenal and may be persuaded into returning to his former side.
