North London giants Arsenal are leading the race in the battle to sign Dutch youngster Alessio Da Cruz ahead of Merseyside giants Liverpool.
Da Cruz currently plays for the Novara where he has been spotted by some of world football’s top clubs after brilliant form this campaign.
The 20-year-old wonderkid has scored five goals in 18 matches this term and is often played as a wide player.
According to a report from the Sun, Emirates chiefs recently met with the youngster to talk about his future promoting the youngster’s likelihood to depart for Arsenal increasing at a high speed.
This could be sweet revenge for French tactician Arsene Wenger and the Gunners after their disappointing summer transfer window. England international attacking midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain left the Emirates Stadium for Anfield Stadium this summer leaving a bitter taste in the mouths of Arsenal faithful.
It seems however that the North London club will have the next big win between the pair in the transfer market as they attempt to steal Da Cruz from underneath manager Jurgen Klopp’s nose.
He spent the last campaign on loan at Dutch second-tier club Dordrecht. He netted five goals in 29 matches after coming through Ajax youth ranks.
