Jose Mourinho is expected to take advantage of the upcoming January transfer window to reinforce his squad by signing new players, but he must also hold on to some certain key players in his team.
Belgian midfielder Marouane Fellaini has become a key player under manager Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
The 30-year-old has evolved into an important member in Mourinho’s side and is highly rated by the Portuguese manager.
Fellaini will be out of contract at the end of this season at Manchester United and can discuss with other clubs to reach pre-contract agreement next month.
Mourinho is keen on keeping the tall midfielder with him at Old Trafford and Daily Star are reporting that the Portuguese tactician has told the management to do all it takes to reach an agreement with the former Everton man.
Although Fellaini is currently hindered by injuries, the talented player has been impressive when fit and chanced.
This season so far in four starts in all competitions for the red devils, Fellaini has scored four goals and has provided one assist.
It was also added (Daily Star) that the club have tabled a big offer that will see him earn £150,000 each week just to persuade him to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
