Premier league side Liverpool secured the services of Englishman Dominic Solanke from Premier League side Chelsea last summer transfer to deputize for Brazilian international striker Roberto Firmino, who was the Red’s Number 9 last season.
Fee agreed with Premier League giant
The Merseysider’s had not settled on a transfer fee with Chelsea over the move of the 20-year-old center-forward. Now, as reported by BBC, Liverpool have now agreed a fee with Chelsea for Solanke.
Ex- Hoffenheim striker, Firmino, played in 54 matches across all competitions for Liverpool last term and contributed directly in 44 goals, including 27 goals and 17 assists.
Liverpool lack quality in depth
Klopp decided to loan out Belgium international striker Divork Origi last season and Danny Sturridge and Ings all had injury problems. In such a situation, the German tactician mainly used the England international to deputize for the Brazilian and to be fair, the young forward was below par.
Last term, the forward got the opportunity to play in 27 matches for the senior squad across all competitions for Liverpool and he scored only one goal.
Fortunately, South American striker Firmino was fit all through the campaign long but it is crystal clear that the Reds lack depth and quality up front.
