Arsenal are interested in signing English international winger Jesse Lingard as the North London side target player reinforcements in the January transfer window next in a bid to rescue their failing league title push this season.
According to The Sun newspapers, Jesse Lingard’s current contract at Old Trafford will expire at the end of next season and with no contract renewal in sight Arsene Wenger could take advantage of the situation to make a swoop for him. This is coming on the back of a reported United interest in Arsenal and German playmaker Mesut Ozil with the report saying the interest in Lingard is as a revenge to that interest in the former Werder Bremen and Real Madrid star.
Arsenal have a lot of work to do if they are to end their 13-year wait for a league title having dropped six points in the last two games (a 2-1 defeat against Everton on Tuesday night and a 2-1 defeat against Manchester City on Sunday evening) to move nine points adrift of league leaders Chelsea, who they beat 3-0 in September but has now won their last 11 games in the league scoring 25 goals and conceding just 2 goals. Arsene Wenger’s team have dropped from 3rd to 4th on the table as a result of the latest league defeat to Manchester City
