Sarri Undecided Over Kepa Recall

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is keeping his cards close to his chest on dropped Blues goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Sarri told reporters that he has not decided whether to restore Kepa into the starting XI during his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of Sunday’s West London Derby clash with Fulham.

The Italian tactician made the big decision to drop Kepa Arrizabalaga from his starting XI for the Premier League clash with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night after his Carabao Cup meltdown.

Sarri and Kepa clashed in front of the watching public during the Carabao Cup final clash with Premier League champions Manchester City.

Kepa suffered a knock during extra time before refusing to be substituted with substitute goalkeeper Willy Caballero waiting on the sidelines.

The former Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper finished the game including penalty shootout as Chelsea lost the Carabao Cup trophy to holders Manchester City via 4-3 on penalties.

He missed a Premier League game for the first time this season as Caballero kept a clean sheet to propel Chelsea to a 2-0 home win over Tottenham Hotspur.

Pedro Rodriguez and Kieran Trippier (own goal) got the goals for Chelsea which boosted their quest for a top four spot.
