Arsenal legend Robert Pires has claimed that Arsenal paid too much for new recruit Lucas Torriera but that is no longer a problem because of what the player has transformed into.
Arsenal spent £26 million on the Uruguay international from Sampdoria and has become a major part of the team, being a starter.
Pires said the reason why the Gunners spent big to land the player is now justified as the player has turned into a ‘warrior’ in the Unai Emery team.
The Arsenal legend says he is impressed with the qualities of the 22-year-old so far.
He noted that Torriera fights a good fight on the field of play and has the sound technical skill to do what he does. He added that he makes good use of the ball and has the vision to make clinical passes.
Torriera was initially limited to starting from the bench behind 19-year-old Matteo Guendouzi but he seems to have won the competition from the young lad.
Meanwhile, Unai Emery has been tipped to turn things around at the Emirates Stadium with his passion and hard work.
He had recorded a slow start, losing his first two games against Manchester City and Chelsea respectively but the former PSG manager has since bounced back, winning seven games in a row for the North London club.
