Four players that could be Chelsea’s next captain
Since the arrival of new coach Sarri Maurizio, he is yet to name a captain for his squad.
The Italian has been postponing the issue every week, disclosing that he still wanted to talk things out with his staff.
Apart from this, Sarri Maurizio revealed he still wants to watch the team performance before he can name his captain.
It looks as if Sarri has more pressing issues to look into than selecting a captain but sooner or later he will have to appoint one.
Below is a list of four players that could end up as Chelsea’s captain.
1. Gary Cahill: he is the Blues current captain from last season but has not taken up the role this season in the EPL with Sarri yet to give him enough playing chances – However, Sarri in a statement disclosed he doesn’t want the centre back to leave and he assured that he will be getting enough playing chances soon, so there are possibilities he retains his armband.
2. Cesar Azplicueta: the Blues right back defender has been the Blues unofficial captain so far this season – He is likely to be the next captain owing to the fact that he is highly interested.
3. Eden Hazard: the Blues talisman may end up as the club captain in order to lure him into signing a contract extension.
4. David Luiz: the Brazilian has made a huge impression this season which could land him the band having been the Blues captain in the past.
