Criticism has continued to trail ex Madrid star Alvaro Morata’s inclusion in the Chelsea team, as both fans and pundits believe the player can’t lead Chelsea line to premier league success.
To join the list of people who believe Chelsea cannot win top trophies with Alvaro Morata leading the line up front is former Tottenham striker Mido.
According to the ex-Egypt international, and big Serie A fan, he believes the Spaniard has been a big disappointment since joining the Blues from Juventus and has not in any way proven to be as effective and efficient when compared to club legend Didier Drogba.
The striker has been a serial underperformer since joining the club and has struggled to fulfil his £60million price tag since arriving at Stamford Bridge last summer, scoring just 16 Premier League goals in 43 appearances.
After watching Chelsea’s shambolic performance over the weekend, Mido stated that the Blues need a change up-front if they desire more trophies.
The former Tottenham star believes the player is disappointing, compared to the performance he usually rendered during his spell at Italian champions Juventus.
Mido insists that the Spaniard was a good Plan B if a team plan to play direct and get long balls into the box. Whilst stating that to be the first striker at a club like Chelsea, a player needs to be like Drogba something Morata currently lacks.
