Effort by Arsenal to turn again to Sampdoria for star defender Joachim Andersen has been snitched by Manchester United scout who is also monitoring the player.

Arsenal might be returning to the Italian side after being appreciative of the first visit which saw them sign Lucas Torreira from the club.

Torreira has gone to the heart of the Arsenal team to become an important player and providing the nutrient the North London side have lacked for many years which makes the Gunners plan another visit to find a defender.

However, latest reports by La Repubblica as cited by Calciomercato revealed that Arsenal might not be the only club in line for the defender with United scout reported to have hinted manager Jose Mourinho of Andersen’s quality and likely availability.

The report further stated that the Portuguese manager is already in love with the player and has taken steps to ensure his arrival at the Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

It is no longer news that Jose Mourinho is desperate for quality defenders and has made it clear of his intention to have more additions behind in the coming window.

However, the fee for Andersen has been pegged at £30 million with suggestions that it could rise, depending on the level of competition for his signature.
