According to reports, Arsenal are set to complete their first transfer signing of the winter transfer window by luring highly-rated talented defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.
The 20-year-old defender is thought to be in the City of London ahead of sealing a £2.2million transfer, which will afterwards see the youngster immediately sent out on loan to German Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, as reported by Gazzetta.gr.
This seems like this could be some brilliant transfer business by the Gunners, with French tactician Arsene Wenger known for hunting the best young talent across the whole of Europe and giving youngsters the opportunity to prove themselves and shine in his senior team.
Recently, the likes of Spain international Hector Bellerin and Super Eagles of Nigeria star Alex Iwobi have enjoyed greatly from this Arsene Wenger policy, while this campaign, further opportunities have been handed to academy players like Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson.
Konstantinos Mavropanos may take some distance time to be seen in the Gunners shirt if claims of his loan to the German Bundesliga side prove right, but this could also be for the very best in when it comes to his development.
The Greek could profit from playing more constantly at the very top level in a competitive league in Europe, something he would probably not get at Arsenal.
