Arsenal have hijacked Chelsea’s advances for Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to reports.
Reports in France claim that Arsenal and Liverpool have made ‘concrete’ approach for the midfielder who has been monitored by Chelsea for a long-time.
Bakayoko has been heavily linked with a move to the Stamford Bridge since the last summer window due to his impressive form for Monaco, helping them to a second place on the Ligue 1 with just two points off league leaders, Nice.
The French giants are understood to be keen to hold onto the 22-year-old and are desperate to keep Bakayoko at the club until next summer.
Manchester United have also been linked with a £40 million bid for Bakayoko after fears that the Blues were interested in a summer deal for the midfielder.
However, reports in Le10 Sport claims that Arsenal and Liverpool have also joined the race and made a ‘concrete’ approach to sign him. Other reports have it that Manchester City is also interested in Bakayoko which might trigger a bidding war in the summer.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been a brilliant star for Monaco, missing just five games in the Ligue 1 this season, two of which were due to red-card suspensions.
