It has been revealed that Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin is close to signing a new contract to remain at the Emirates. Bellerin had revealed before the North Derby match against Tottenham that he is happy at the Emirates and is focused on improving and becoming a better person at the club and he seems ready to show his commitment to the club by signing a new deal with the gunners.
The Spanish defender has been in superb form for the gunners this season and has helped them to maintain their unbeaten run since the opening premier league match defeat to Liverpool. Bellerin joined Arsenal as a teenager in 2011 and still has about three years left on his contract and there have been rumours that he is set for a move away from the Emirates.
In the past weeks the 21- year old has been strongly linked to a move back to his former club Barcelona where he started his career but has since come out too squash those rumors and stated he is happy to be at Arsenal and his agent has confirmed that the Spanish right back is set to commit to the London club.
Speaking to the Guardian his agent revealed “We are speaking and are now a lot closer than we were two weeks ago. In a normal situation he will sign. Hector is very happy at Arsenal. This would be the fourth time he has signed a new contract at the club and it is clear he has made good progress.”
