Arsenal could seal deal for Leon Goretzka amid Manchester United interest

Arsenal and Manchester United seem to have been sent a strong transfer message over their pursuit of Schalke star Leon Goretzka as he moves ever closer to leaving for nothing.

The German is one of the hottest prospects in Europe right now after some good form in the German Bundesliga and for his national side.

Top news outlet Daily Mirror have linked the midfielder as a top transfer target for the Gunners, Diario Gol claim FC Barcelona are after the German, while Sky Sports recently linked the player with Premier League rivals Manchester United.

We wait to see what Goretzka, 22, will decide, but he has at least given a clue of when his final decision will be made.

Talking to reporters, Leon Goretzka’s latest transfer update is that he will possibly make his final transfer decision by the end of next year January.

The North Londoners and rivals Manchester United could both do with another midfielder on the middle of the park, with United facing doubts over the contract situations of both Ander Herrera and Belgian Marouane Fellaini as they enter the ends of their respective contracts.

Spanish La Liga giant FC Barcelona, meanwhile, could also do with Goretzka as a replacement for Andres Iniesta, who is ageing.
