Arsenal boss update fans about Santi Cazorla injury

Arsenal tactician Arsene Wenger has praised Santi Cazorla as the Spaniard continues to work hard enough on his complete rehabilitation from a long injury layoff.

The Spain international midfielder has not kicked a ball this season after the 32-year-old sustained a setback in his attempt to return from his ankle problem. In fact, the attacking midfielder has not played for the Gunners since October last year after he had to go under the knife to correct his ankle problem.

Remarkably, Cazorla has been operated upon eight times but the injury did not heal completely and got infected to cause a serious setback to his recovery. Santi Cazorla’s eighth surgery was to reconstruct his Achilles tendon in May.

The Ex Malaga and Villarreal attacking midfielder is working on returning to full fitness as the Gunners look to return to top-four spot this season.

The Arsenal boss heaped praise on the Spaniard for showing a lot of courage during some hard times over the past one year or so.

“I [Arsene Wenger] have been in [close] touch with Santi [Cazorla] throughout his rehab [recovery], and it has been tough and testing for him [Santi Cazorla],” Arsene Wenger informed Arsenal’s website.

Wenger signed the midfielder in a £10million transfer from Spanish La Liga side Malaga back in the 2012 summer window.

The team lost 3-1 to English Premier League side Man City at the Etihad last weekend.
