According to reports, Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has contacted midfielder Arturo Vidal of German side Bayern Munich to discuss contract terms over a possible move to Stamford Bridge.
The Chilean international midfielder played under Antonio Conte at Serie A giants Juventus and was a major performer for his massively successful title-winning team, and he’s continued to perform pretty well at Bayern Munich.
As per reports, Antonio Conte is now willing to work with the versatile midfielder again, though he might have to pay the German side £60m for the 30-year-old Chilean whilst his monthly pay would likely be about £250,000-weekly.
This figure would be another good sum spent on midfield and says a lot about how Antonio Conte feels about summer intakes Frenchman Tiemoue Bakayoko and English Danny Drinkwater.
Neither of the summer signings looked very convincing since joining the Blues in the summer, while Serbian Nemanja Matic has been a huge loss since he joined Manchester United.
Signing Arturo Vidal for that kind of fee would surely signal the end for France international Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater, with the Italian tactician showing he’s not one to keep unimpressive players.
Brazil international David Luiz has already lost his spot in the Chelsea starting eleven this campaign despite being so impressive last season and sustaining just a little dip in form this year.
