Arsenal were linked with a transfer for Monaco star Thomas Lemar last campaign, and reports suggest that they’re still solidly in the chase for the Frenchman.
Lemar, 22, enjoyed some impressive form last term, netting 14 goals and making 17 assists in 55 matches in all competitions as he led his team to win the French Ligue 1 title.
However, injury problems and a lack of similar shape has seen him dip in form so far this season, as he’s scored just twice and made four assists in 18 matches.
Notwithstanding, it doesn’t seem to have chased away suitors with their interest in securing his signature, although as per a report by the Metro, the Gunners have remained in constant contact with the youngster and could make an attempt again when the season ends.
The same reports state how the forward almost sealed a £90million transfer to the Emirates Stadium last term, only for former Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez’s move to Manchester City to break down which ended every hope of him joining the club.
However, Alexis Sanchez is yet to agree to a new deal and so could still leave for nothing when the season ends. That, in turn, will mean the Gunners have to fill the space left behind, and the Frenchman is seemingly the player that they wish to sign.
