Higuain Won’t Join Chelsea Because Of Hazard, Italian Journalist Reveals

Experienced Italian journalist Gabriele Marcotti has revealed that Chelsea-linked player Gonzalo Higuain won’t join the club because of Blues talisman Eden Hazard.

Marcotti said this while he was on the Guillem Balague Transfer Show as he said that Chelsea will prioritize keeping Hazard at the club rather than splashing money on Gonzalo Higuain.

According to him, the Blues hierarchy must make some key transfer decisions on important players this summer with less than 18 months left on their contracts.

Marcotti mentioned the likes of Eden Hazard, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Pedro Rodriguez and Willian.

He further added that Chelsea’s finances have suffered in recent times due to their failure to qualify for the Champions League in two of the last three seasons and that they also had to hand out huge payouts to former managers Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte when they were dismissed from their jobs.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with a loan move for Higuain who has already submitted a transfer request to terminate his loan deal at AC Milan.

The 31-year-old is on a season-long loan deal at AC Milan from rivals Juventus.

Milan paid €18m for the loan deal with the option of making it permanent for €36m and Chelsea might have to shoulder this financial responsibility to sign Gonzalo Higuain.
