Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta is set to depart Camp Nou after a successful career at the club….and emotions are beginning to set in.
Iniesta, who has spent 22 years with the Catalan giants, is saying his goodbyes at the end of this season.
The Spain international has flourished under different managers at Barcelona, and has won lots of trophies and personal awards.
Iniesta had won nine La Liga titles, 6 Copa Del Rey trophies, as well as 4 Champions Leagues under different managers at Camp Nou.
At Barca, the Spaniard has worked with the likes of Pep Guardiola, Frank Rijkaard, Luis Enrique and Ernesto Valverde. However, he made it known that the most important manager to him is former Manchester United boss Louis Van Gaal.
Van Gaal, also a former Barcelona coach, was the one who gave Andres his professional debut, and the talented midfielder isn’t forgetting him in a hurry.
Iniesta was recently asked to described the Dutch boss in one sentence, and he tagged him as his ‘most important manager’
While Van Gaal was able to win two La Liga titles for Barca during his spell at Camp Nou, the manager’s tenure at Manchester United was not a pleasant one! But, as they say, it’s now history! Manchester United fans have all moved on!
